Driver Crashes SUV into Tree, Flees Scene: Fairfield Police

FAIRFIELD, CT — A loud crash awoke a Sherwood Drive resident around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday and the mystery of what caused the noise was solved five hours later when he found an SUV smashed into a tree in his front yard, according to multiple reports.

The Fairfield Citizen reports the SUV was empty when the homeowner made the discovery.

Police later located and arrested the suspected driver, Kate Salko, 29, of Hulls Farm Road, according to the Fairfield Daily Voice.
