Driver, Dog Injured In Fairfield Crash

One of two dogs in the car appeared to have hit the windshield, and had a facial laceration and leg injuries, according to fire officials.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A driver and two dogs were involved in a crash Friday afternoon, according to the Fairfield Fire Department.

A vehicle traveling west in the 2600 block of the Post Road hit the back of a tractor-trailer, fire officials said in a Facebook post. The driver suffered minor injuries and two small dogs in the front seat may have suffered internal injuries, according to the department, which noted one of the animals appeared to have struck the windshield, and had a facial laceration and leg injuries.

Firefighters attended to the driver and pets, and contacted Animal Control to provide transportation to a veterinary hospital.

"We hope the driver and the dogs make a full recovery," the fire department said.
