Driver Enters Plea In Crash That Killed Fairfield Woman

The driver was charged with second-degree manslaughter in connection with the January crash that killed a pedestrian in Stamford.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Stamford resident George E. Christiansen, 29, pleaded not guilty in court Wednesday to a second-degree manslaughter charge in connection with the January crash that killed Fairfield resident Lynette Wagner, 59, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Last month, Stamford police arrested Christiansen following an extensive investigation. Wagner was struck and killed as she crossed Elm Street on her way to work at Henkel USA on Jan. 2.

Following the brief court appearance, Christiansen's first, his Stamford-based attorney, Lindy Urso, questioned why Christiansen was charged for what Urso states was an accident, according to the Stamford Advocate.
