FAIRFIELD, CT — A Fairfield man is charged with driving under the influence after he crashed into two parked vehicles Christmas evening and fled the scene, according to police.
The incident occurred about 10 p.m. Saturday, when Alex John Sullivan drove across the centerline of Brookside Drive and off the road before hitting a vehicle parked in a driveway and another parked in the street, police said. The impact of the second crash caused the vehicle that was struck to travel about 20 yards south and come to rest on top of a pile of stone, according to police.
Sullivan didn’t stop driving or report the incident, which heavily damaged the vehicles that were struck, police said, adding they later found Sullivan’s vehicle in a church parking lot in the 1700 block of the Post Road.
