Early Release for Convicted Swindler Who Fleeced Elderly Fairfield Victims Out of Life Savings: Report

Fairfield deli owner Carmella Jamshidian, a Trumbull resident, was sentenced to nine years in prison in 2014.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Carmella Jamshidian, the Fairfield deli owner convicted swindling three elderly Fairfield siblings out of more than $200,000, is coming home for the holidays, reports the Connecticut Post.

The Trumbull resident was sentenced in 2014 to nine years in prison, but Superior Court Judge John Kavanewsky Jr. reduced it to two-and-a-half years after Jamshidian came up with $20,000 and agreed to make regular payments. She could be released as early as this week.

According to the publication, Jamshidian had maintained her innocence throughout the trial and refused to make payments. She was accused of taking over control of the sibling's money and then systematically withdrawing it from accounts she held.
