Employee Accused Of Punching Customer In Face At Restaurant: Fairfield Police

Police responded to the restaurant twice for two assaults that reportedly took place within hours of each other over the weekend.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield Police responded to Crave Restaurant on Sanford Street on the report of two assaults that took place within hours of each other on Friday night, including one in which an employee is accused of punching a customer in the face, according to multiple reports.

The Fairfield Citizen reports Lainiker Vargas-Badilla, 23, of Norwalk, was arrested after allegedly punching the victim outside of the restaurant during an argument. Vargas-Badilla, a Crave employee, was carrying a tray of food when the victim, his wife and some friends “jokingly” tried to pick some food off the tray, according to the Citizen. Vargas-Badilla was accused of deliberately spilling the tray on the women, which he said was an accident, before the dispute moved outside of the restaurant, the Citizen reports.

Police returned to the restaurant a few hours later after a woman struck another woman in the face with a beer bottle after bumping into her, according to the Fairfield Daily Voice.

The Daily Voice reports Sara Scheef, 25, of Seymour, was arrested after the incident, which was caught on surveillance video. The women didn’t know each other.
