FAIRFIELD, CT — A Fairfield man who told police he thought he was “developing a friendship” with an escort he met through Craigslist, found out that the woman stole $500 from him, according to multiple reports.

The Fairfield Citizen reports the 40-year-old man called police at about 1 a.m. on Monday to report the theft. He told police that the escort, who said her name was “Amanda,” first came to his home about three weeks ago and he paid her $200 for sex, according to the Citizen.

He thought the second “hookup” would be free due to their budding friendship, according to the Fairfield Daily Voice.
