Fairfield American Little League Advances To D-I Final

The Fairfield American Little League team will play for the Division I state title on Sunday thanks for a thrilling 1-0 victory over Stamford North on Thursday night.

Andrew Wymbs provided the power with a home run in the fourth inning for the game’s only run.

Fairfield American will face the winner of Stamford and Hamden in the title game Sunday at 7 p.m.

Stamford will face Hamden on Friday and then the two will play in the second vs third place game Saturday. The winner will advance to Sunday’s Division 1 final set for 7 p.m. at the Springdale Little League’s field.

“That was a hell of a little league baseball game right there,” Fairfield American coach Matt Lawlor told Mary Albl of GameTimeCT after Thursday night’s win. “Hell of a little league baseball game, both sides.”
