Fairfield American Little League Wins State Championship
Fairfield American beats South Windsor, advances to New England Regional Tournament.
The Fairfield American Little League team captured the state tournament title by sweeping South Windsor this weekend and advanced to the New England Regional Tournament in Bristol.
Fairfield American (12-1) will play again in the regional Friday night at 8:15 p.m. against Williston of Vermont.
Fairfield American blasted South Windsor 12-2, in four innings, on Sunday afternoon at the Harwington Sports Complex and won 10-0 on Saturday.

“It’s great, we’re so happy for the kids,” Fairfield American head coach Mike Steed told Mary Albl of the New Haven Register/GameTimeCT.com of advancing to the regionals. ““Obviously every Little League team in the state has had their sights on it and has aspired to it and just so thrilled for them.”
It is the fourth time in five years that Fairfield American has advanced to the regional tournament as a program.
