Fairfield American Moves One Win Away from Williamsport and Little League World Series
Fairfield American rolls past Wellesley, Mass. and will play in the New England Regional championship game on Saturday.

FAIRFIELD, CT — After losing its opening game in the New England Regional tournament, the Fairfield American Little League team has battled all the way to the championship game and is one win away from a trip to Williamsport, Pa. and the Little League World Series.
Fairfield American advanced to the title game with an 11-0 thrashing of Wellesley, Mass. on Friday afternoon in Bristol.
Fairfield American battled its way out of the losers’ bracket after the opening loss with three straight wins and will take on unbeaten Warwick, R.I. (2-0) in the championship game on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Bristol. The winner advances to Williamsport.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
Fairfield American jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning and added two more in the third before exploding with six runs in the fifth inning.

Richie Kerstetter led the 12-hit attack with three hits, including a three-run home run, and five RBIs. He also pitched four innings of no-hit ball in the five-inning victory, according to the Connecticut Post.
Fairfield American manager Brian Grady told the Post after the game that the team has settled down and gotten comfortable after that first loss and is “back to doing everything they can. They’re ready to hit and field and they’re all doing a great job.”
