Fairfield Animal Control Offering 'Heat Kills' Signs
Officials are trying to raise awareness to the dangers of leaving children and pets in hot cars.

Fairfield Animal Control posted the following message on Facebook:
The Town of Fairfield has started a parking lot sign posting program in cooperation with the Fairfield Police, Police Chief Gary MacNamara and CT State Representative Brenda Kupchick for both public and private property called Heat Kills.
The signs are metal 18’’x 24’’ and reads “Heat Kills in parked vehicles if you love ‘em don’t leave ‘em Fairfield Police 254-4800.”

We encourage private property owners to allow a sign to be posted in a prominent parking area at the expense and labor of the town that notifies the public of the danger of leaving children and pets in hot cars.
If you would like a sign installed please call Fairfield Animal Control at 203-254-4857 or e-mail Officer Miller at PMiller@fairfieldct.org. We would like to know your business address and phone number to contact you at and where you would like the signs placed. We offer window stickers (12”x18”) and wall magnets (12”x12”) if a road sign is not optimal.
