Fairfield Announces First Coronavirus-Related Death Of A Fairfield Resident Today

This sad event underscores importance of efforts we all must continue to collectively take to protect each other.

It is with sadness that the Town of Fairfield announces the first COVID-19 associated death of a Fairfield resident today. The thoughts and prayers of the Town’s Leadership Team as well as those of all Fairfield residents are with the family at this difficult time.

“I extend my sincere condolences to the family who lost a loved one during this difficult time,” said First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick. My heart goes out to all the families who are living in these uncertain times, to our health professionals who are working around the clock, and to our first responders who are on the front lines and continue to protect our community. The loss of one of our residents to COVID-19 underscores the vital importance to follow health professional’s advice so that we can protect each other as this pandemic will continue to impact our town.”

Notification received from the CT Department of Public Health today indicated that the resident who passed was an 85-year-old male with underlying medical conditions.

This sad event underscores the importance of the efforts we all must continue to collectively take to protect each other as this pandemic impacts our Town. We urge all residents to “Stay Safe, Stay Home” such that we protect ourselves and the most vulnerable among us.
