Fairfield Apartment Buildings Evacuated Due To Dumpster Fire: Report

FAIRFIELD, CT — A dumpster fire in the parking garage at the Alta housing complex on Kings Highway in Fairfield Sunday night led to the temporary evacuation of two apartment buildings, reported the Connecticut Post.

No injuries were reported in the 8 p.m. blaze, which was extinguished by Fairfield firefighters after cutting open a steel door to access the fire.

Patch reached out to a fire department spokesperson for comment, but did not immediately receive a reply.

The cause of the fire is reportedly under investigation.
