Fairfield Featured On HGTV's 'Beach Hunters'

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield made an appearance on the small screen Saturday evening, when it was featured in a new episode of "Beach Hunters" on HGTV.

The episode, titled "Dream Beach Home in Connecticut," was set to air 8 p.m. Saturday and follows a long-time Fairfield family's search for a home on the shore of the Long Island Sound.

"They looked exclusively in the beach area in Fairfield with the exception of one house," real estate agent Cathy Carrano said in an email.

Carrano is a licensed real estate salesperson for William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty Fairfield-Southport Brokerage and spent several years working with the couple to find their home.

"We saw a lot of properties on the beach in Fairfield," she said.

The preview for Saturday's episode shows sweeping shots of the Long Island Sound shoreline as the couple tours homes with beach views.

Carrano said the experience of filming with HGTV was great, despite taking place in the more than 90-degree heat Connecticut saw during July 2019. She added that the couple, who declined to be named, found a house that checked all their boxes, with room for their grown children to return home and space for the husband's mother, who lives with the family.

"And of course, it is right on the beach," Carrano said.

"Beach Hunters" travels to beach destinations to follow buyers in the search for a dream home on the sand. Other episodes have been filmed in Fernandina Beach, Florida; Kitsap Peninsula, Washington; and Gulf Shores, Alabama, among many other locations.
