FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield Board of Selectpersons last month addressed various town matters, including contract approvals, a land donation, and a proclamation.
First Selectperson Christine Vitale read a proclamation for Fairfield’s Muslim Heritage Month to the public and members of the Muslim Community in attendance. The board then moved to consider several agreements.
The Board voted to approve an agreement with ChimeNet for mobile device management of iPads used by the Fire Department. Fire Chief Kyran Dunn said this is a three-year contract that will ensure software is properly loaded onto Fire Department iPads for incident information, building pre-plans, and mapping. The motion carried unanimously.

An agreement with LPi for the renewal of the community newsletter subscription for the Fairfield Bigelow Center for Senior Activities also received approval. Human and Social Services Director Julie DeMarco said this three-year contract incurs no expense to the town. She added that the service produces a monthly community newsletter distributed across Fairfield and electronically, featuring all Bigelow Center programs.
The Board also approved a resolution to subordinate the town's loan under its First-Time Homebuyer Program for Elizabeth Chatel and Ryan SanAngelo. Community and Economic Development Director Mark Barnhart explained that the program offers interest-free loans for down payment and closing cost assistance to income-eligible first-time homebuyers. He noted that there is no expense to the town, as funds are sourced from the Federal Community Development Block grant program.
