FAIRFIELD, CT — The 2019 municipal election is heating up in Fairfield and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office, so Fairfield Patch asked them to answer questions about their campaigns.

Alex Durrell is running for Representative Town Meeting District 3 as a Republican. Durrell is a middle school teacher in Greenwich and has been a member of the RTM for six years.

The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Building the Grand List to increase business tax revenue and therefore lessen the tax burden on individual property taxpayers in Fairfield. Proactively support strategic and rational business growth in town.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

Fairfield-not my party or certain individuals-is my #1 priority. Having lived in Fairfield my entire life, like my wife, my family has a history of public and community service to our hometown.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I have been in this elected position for three terms and I have been a homeowner in my current district for over 30 years.
