Fairfield Chamber To Honor Five Recipients At 80th Annual Awards Dinner
The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce will recognize five businesses, organizations and individuals at its annual awards dinner this month.
FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce will hold its 80th Annual Chamber Member Recognition and Awards Dinner on June 23 at Black Rock Yacht Club in Bridgeport.
The event is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will recognize local businesses, organizations and individuals for their contributions to the Fairfield community.
This year's honorees are:

- Business of Distinction: Cohen and Wolf, P.C., accepted by Stuart Katz, co-managing partner.
- Excellence in Senior Care: Sturges Ridge of Fairfield, accepted by Kelly Solway, director of community relations.
- Non-Profit of the Year: Fairfield Museum and History Center, accepted by Executive Director Mike A. Jehle.
- Entrepreneur Extraordinaire: Nordic Fish, accepted by founder and owner Jardar Nygaard.
- Volunteer of the Year: Taylor Benedict, chair of the Fairfield Emerging Leaders Organization (FELO).
"Historically, the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce has been holding this event for many, many years, and this June 23rd, will be our 80th year!" said Beverly A. Balaz, President of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, in a statement. "This annual Chamber tradition, and the purpose of this event, is to recognize and acknowledge those local Chamber businesses and non-profit organizations who have made a positive impact within our community."

Balaz said the annual event is intended to recognize Chamber businesses and nonprofit organizations that have made a positive impact in the community.
"This annual Chamber tradition, and the purpose of this event, is to recognize and acknowledge those local Chamber businesses and non-profit organizations who have made a positive impact within our community," Balaz said.
The 2026 awards program includes a new Volunteer of the Year category, according to the Chamber.
First Selectperson Christine Vitale is scheduled to provide opening remarks.
The ticketed event is open to the public.
"Appreciation comes in many forms," Balaz said. "And for the annual Chamber’s Recognition and Awards Dinner, we believe that it is just nice to openly say 'thank you' and recognize businesses, organizations, and hard-working people, not only for their business expertise, but also for their important contributions to the Town of Fairfield and local community – that’s what this annual Awards Dinner is all about … to Congratulate, Celebrate, and say Thank You!"
The evening schedule includes a reception from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., dinner from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and the awards program from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Tickets are $100 and must be purchased by June 18. Seating is limited, and walk-ins will not be allowed.
