Fairfield Coronavirus Death Total Hits 75
In total, 75 Fairfield residents have died after contracting the new coronavirus, while another 180 residents have reported a full recovery.
FAIRFIELD, CT — A total of 75 Fairfield residents have died after contracting the new coronavirus, the first selectwoman reported Wednesday.
The number of virus-associated deaths in town is up by three since First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick's last update Monday, while confirmed cases have risen by 17 in the past two days, reaching a total of 440 cases, Kupchick said Wednesday in a Facebook post. Additionally, 180 residents are confirmed to have made a full recovery, she said.
Across Connecticut, virus hospitalizations dropped by 55 patients after a single-day increase, the state reported Wednesday. There were 85 virus-associated deaths and 374 positive cases out of 2,804 tests reported Wednesday, bringing the state totals to 2,718 deaths, 30,995 confirmed cases and 111,447 tests.
