Fairfield Coronavirus Update: 40 Cases Confirmed In Town

There were 40 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus as of Tuesday in Fairfield — a day-over-day increase of five cases.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The number of confirmed cases of the new coronavirus hit 40 on Tuesday in Fairfield, according to the first selectwoman, marking a day-over-day increase of five cases.

In Fairfield County, total confirmed cases had risen as of Tuesday to 1,870, First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick said in a Facebook post. Confirmed cases were up 21.5 percent statewide compared to Monday, with 3,128 cases as of Tuesday in Connecticut, according to Kupchick.

Across the state as of Tuesday, 608 people had been hospitalized for the virus and 69 people had died, including one in Fairfield, Kupchick said.
