Fairfield Democrats Elect Officers, District Leaders

FAIRFIELD, CT — On Monday, the Fairfield Democratic Town Committee elected its 2020-22 slate of executive officers and Representative Town Meeting district leaders.

Unanimously reelected to the DTC executive board were Chairman Steven Sheinberg, Vice Chair Cathy Curley, Treasurer Diana Sisler and Recording Secretary Laura Karson. Rounding out the board will be Carlisle Spivey, who was reappointed as DTC corresponding secretary.

“I am honored to continue to serve as your chairman,” said Sheinberg, who will be serving his third term as DTC chair. “I am proud to serve as chair of such a strong, energized and engaged committee and look forward to our continued work to make Fairfield an even better place to live.”

State Rep. Cristin McCarthy Vahey, who recently launched her reelection campaign for Connecticut’s 133rd assembly district, nominated Sheinberg and noted his tireless energy, his dedicated service to the Democratic Party, and his steadfast leadership not just at the local level, but also among Democratic town committees statewide.

Also elected Monday were district leaders for each of Fairfield’s 10 RTM Districts. Those elected include:

• District 2 — Cindy Wapnitsky
• District 3 — Sharon Pistilli
• District 4 — Peter Ruppert
• District 5 — Ruth Smey
• District 6 — Matt Waggner
• District 7 — Karen Wackerman
• District 8 — Susan Burstein
• District 9 — Margaret Horton
• District 10 — Judy Ewing
