Fairfield Eatery Holding 2 More Free Meal Events Amid Coronavirus
A 'kids meal' of chicken tenders and fries and a ziti and meatball dinner will be available this weekend at the Fairfield restaurant.
FAIRFIELD, CT — A chef from Stratford is continuing his partnership with a Fairfield restaurant to offer free meals to those in need during the outbreak of the new coronavirus.
Andrew Testo and The Brickyard Pub collaborated for a curbside pickup event Friday at which they planned to distribute enough pizza and chicken wings to feed about 100 people. They are set to host two additional similar meals over the weekend.
Testo, a catering chef, reached out to several of his contacts in the food service industry about helping to feed people affected by the new coronavirus. In Connecticut, there were 1,291 confirmed cases of the virus as of Friday afternoon. Of those, 27 cases were fatal and 752 cases were in Fairfield County. Precautions to prevent transmission of the virus have resulted in the closure of schools, parks and many businesses.

“We’re trying to be proactive and reactive to what’s going on,” Testo has said.
A “kids meal” offering of chicken tenders and fries will take place 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at The Brickyard Pub, 93 Post Road, according to an email from Testo. On Sunday, a ziti and meatball dinner will be available 4 to 7 p.m. at the restaurant.
