  • Mark and his wife Karen operate Sign Creations in Southport, and have installed many signs that you see around Fairfield, both inside and outside buildings. But besides owning a business, Mark devotes much time to the preservation and showing of historic vehicles. Mark Milosky is a founder and president of the Connecticut Seaport Car Club, which my husband and I joined at Mark’s invitation at a cruise night. Mark has been the driving force to making this car club a success with over 100 members. Mark takes photos and puts them on the website that he created and maintains: http://www.ctseaportcarclub.com/ He gathers information for the events listings to help bring antique and classic car owners together. Mark organizes cruise nights, trips to area restoration shops, and auto participation in the Fairfield Memorial Day Parade and the Blessing of the Fleet parade in Southport. Mark also coordinates car shows that benefit local charities. An upcoming event will take place on Saturday, August 1 from 9:00 am to 3 pm at Fairfield University in the Quick Center parking lot. He puts in endless hours to the car club, and still has time to help other groups with their events, such as the Port Five Naval Veteran’s Antique and Classic Car Show at Boothe Memorial Park in Stratford on May 17.

Why do you feel is this person an Everyday Hero?

  • Mark’s enthusiasm and friendliness has united many car owners. Mark invites other car clubs to the Connecticut Seaport Car Club’s events, and will list their events on the website. To me, someone who donates so much of his time, talents and himself, and helps to lead others is an everyday hero.
