Tetreau to seek reelection, Tymniak announces candidacy, McKinney mulling running.
While we are still months away from the party conventions in July, the 2015 race for first selectman in Fairfield is beginning to take shape.
Incumbent Democrat Mike Tetreau told the Fairfield Citizen that he intends to seek a second-term and Republican Christopher Tymniak declared his candidacy on Wednesday, according to the Citizen. Tymniak is a Representative Town Meeting member from District 9.
The Citizen also reports that former State Senate Minor Leader John McKinney is mulling a run at the town’s top spot.

McKinney didn’t seek reelection last year so he could make a run for governor but lost to Tom Foley in the GOP primary.
McKinney told the Citizen that a lot of people in town have talked to him about making a run for first selectman and because of that, he has thought about it but also said he is not close to making a decision.
