Fairfield Gets $3.5M Grant To Upgrade Police, Fire Radio Network
The town is working to seek additional funding that would add more departments to the emergency network.

FAIRFIELD, CT ā Fairfield recently received $3.5 million from the federal government to replace the townās emergency radio network.
āI want to thank Senator (Richard) Blumenthal for his help in securing these federal dollars that will cover the cost to build the infrastructure of the network that will allow our Police and Fire Departments to connect directly with the State's platform and other municipalities, which is critical during emergencies for both first responders and our community,ā First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick said Thursday in an email newsletter to residents.
The town is also working with U.S. Rep. Jim Himes to seek additional funding that would add public works, parks and recreation, the school board, and the sewer and health departments to the emergency network.
