Fairfield Giants Close Out Season in New England Semifinals

The Giants finished third in New England.

GIANTS FALL SHORT IN NEW ENGLAND SEMI-FINALS

The 2014 State Champion Fairfield Giants Pee Wee team ran into a road block in Mt Hope of Providence, RI. This marks the 3rd time in four regional appearances that the Giants were matched against the mighty Cowboys of Mt Hope. The series record was all tied up at 1-1. Mt Hope would take the series lead 2-1 after a 30-0 shutout victory over a very good Giants football team.

Mt Hope was a very good, discipline football team. They moved the ball with precision and made it very hard for the Giants defense to stop the explosiveness and speed of the Cowboy RB’s. Fairfield fell behind early, and never recovered. The Giants never gave up on either side of the ball as the team continued to play hard until the final whistle blew, as they did all year long.

The Pee Wee’s are very proud of all they accomplished this year. They finished the season with a 10-2 record, 6 of which were shutout victories. They captured a SCPW D2 Championship and a CT State Championship.

“We are so proud and happy for this team”, said coach Innaimo. “Every player worked very hard to earn the State Title. We set some goals at the start of the season, and put all efforts towards accomplishing those goals. Together they walked into Cranston Stadium as champions and together they walked off the field as champions... no one can take that away from them”. They Pee Wee’s vow to be back next season bigger, stronger, faster, and primed to defend their 2014 State Title!
