Fairfield Giants Celebrate 50 Years of Success in the Community
Fairfield Giants Youth Football and Cheer, the Oldest and Largest youth program in town, has opened 2016 Season Registration.
Fairfield Giants Families,
We are very excited to announce our registration for the upcoming season for the Fairfield Giants, our program’s 50th campaign. Please visit www.fairfieldgiants.com today and enjoy our “early bird” specials. In 1966, a group of fathers in the small town of Fairfield, CT embarked on entering into the nationally run Pop Warner association. 50 years later, this program consisting of tackle, cheer and NFL Flag is flourishing with approximately 400 participants.
The Giants players and cheerleaders consistently succeed on the playing field and on cheer mats qualifying for the limited football playoff spots each year and placing high at New England and National cheer championships. More important than our success in our competitions, our young participants are recognized for their success in the classroom through our Scholastics and Little Scholars programs, while giving back to our community through numerous volunteer opportunities. Our overall mission is to help develop young people to become young, respectful adults, who give back to community and focus on academics.

The year ahead is sure to be an exciting one for the Giants program as we create the best possible youth sports experience for the children of Fairfield while celebrating our 50 year milestone. We are actively planning several activities including Memorial Day parade participation, welcome back barbeque, give back opportunities, and this year’s 50th celebration event.
One of our program’s biggest strengths is the quality and depth of coaches. All of our football coaches are required to be Heads Up Football certified and Pop Warner coaching certified. Our 6 head coaches have over 50 years of collective experience in coaching youth football and our assistant coaching staffs’ aggregate experience takes us well over 100 total years of youth football coaching experience. At this time, I am thrilled to announce our Head Coaches for our tackle and cheer teams for the 2016 season.

Additionally, the backbone of the Giants program has been our NFL Flag program. In 2015, we had 220 boys and girls participate in NFL Flag across 2 divisions (5-7 year olds and 8-10 year olds). All flag games and practices are played at Sullivan Field in Fairfield against other Fairfield Giants flag teams (2 divisions of 8 teams each). In our flag program, players learn the basics of football positioning, blocking, and running preparing them for the transition to our tackle program for those who choose to further their football experience.
Lastly, we welcome those who would like to get involved and volunteer with the Giants in any capacity. Please do not hesitate with any questions or comments. All are welcomed. Thank you for being part of the Fairfield Giants Jr. Football, Inc.
