MITEY MITE SR BLACK
~The Giants Mitey Mite Sr Black team traveled to Milford and limited the Eagles to three first downs; scoring on 5 of their 7 possessions. Fairfield opened the game with a seven play drive featuring runs by Finbar Malloy, Conrad Burki and TJ Cirilli capped by Malloy scrambling 13 yards for the first score. The Giant defense led by Mason Frey, Charlie Mahoney and Luke Shannehan shut down all running lanes for the Eagles giving Fairfield the ball back at Milford's 30 yard line. Fairfield's offensive line saw Will Donahue, Frey, Brooks Reynold, Billy Mitchell and Charlie Mahoney open lanes and RB Ricky Bates ran 22 yards to set up first and goal. Fairfield's Mitchell punched it in to make it 12-0 Giants. Fairfield's defense repeatedly shut down Milford giving the Giants the ball three more times in Eagle territory. The Giants capitalized with Cirilli going to the air and hitting Mahoney for a 6 yard score and the PAT. Up 19-0, Fairfield RB Shannehan found the end zone after a 16 yard run with Matthew McManus adding the PAT making it 26-0. Fairfield RBs Frey, Reynolds and Shannehan kept grinding it out until the half. The Giants continued pressuring the Eagles behind Colm Watke, Ryan Murray, Malloy, Mitchell and Cirilli. MITEY MITE SR WHITE
~MMSR White lost to Hamden 0-33. The score didn't reflect how hard the boys competed and controlled the middle of the field. Fairfield moved the ball well behind the leadership of QB Justin Toothaker although couldn't get inside Hamden's red zone. Lawson Leibrock, Liam Bond, Ryan Tompson and Beckett Hallama comprised the Giants running attack behind great offensive line efforts of Braeden Aronson, Grayson Preshlack, Ben Zuckerman, Sam Trautman and others. Fairfields defense continues to be very tough against inside rushing attempts but was more vulnerable to long plays that broke outside. Cole Westerlund, Creed Rollins, Angelo Boci and RJ Patrignelli had some tremendous tackles throughout the game. Despite the lopsided score, the Giants achieved more first downs than their opponent and just missed connecting on some long pass attempts.
