In Q3, QB Morris would hit WR Declan O'Hara on a 70 yard TD Pass (PAT Good) making the score 20-0. The rain slowed and Fairfield MMSr black began with the ball. Giant RB Finbar Malloy grinded out yards and QB TJ Cirilli got the initial drive's only first down. The Seahawks took over near midfield but the Giant defense pushed them back. Fairfield's Charlie Mahoney hit the Seahawk QB allowing Luke Shannehan to recover the fumble giving the ball back to the Giants. Fairfield's Conrad Burki, Malloy and Cirilli moved the ball to the goal line. Giant QB Matt McManus punched it in for Fairfield and the lead 6-0. Fairfield's Luke Cristodero grabbed a fumble in the red zone to end West Haven's second drive. The Seahawks even things up in the 2nd Qtr and went ahead in the 3rd Qtr scoring twice despite pressure from Fairfield's Ricky Bates and Luke Sardinha. Down 18-6, the Giants Oline led by Billy Mitchell, Brooks Reynolds, Will Donahue, Mason Frey and Charlie Mahoney gave McManus time to air it out to Cirilli in the endzone to close the gap 18-12. Fairfield went for two but Andrew Barnaby's kick fell short. The Giants held the Seahawks to a long 3rd down but West Haven found an open receiver to extend their lead 24-12. Fairfield RBs Frey, Mitchell helped move the chains before Mahoney took off weaving in and out of defenders for a 65 yard score making it 24-18 with under a minute remaining. The clock didn't allow the Giants another drive but another great football season ends with smiles and a better understanding of how to play a great game.

MITEY MITE SR WHITE Fairfield 6 Trumbull 6

Fairfield's MMSR2 season finale was a hard fought 6-6 tie in harsh weather conditions. A steady downpour of rain, wind and cold temperatures limited the fairfield offense which stayed on the ground the entire game. The Giants moved the ball at will early on but drives stalled out in Trumbull territory. The running game was led by Justin Toothaker and Liam Bond, with contributions from Ben Zuckerman and Cole Westerlund. Ryan Tompkins and Robbie Maning both played tough at FB. The offense finally caught a break when Westerlund went up the middle for a 50 yard run and was tackled inside the Trumbull 10 yard line. Unfortunately, the Giants turned over the ball on an ensuing play. Fairfield's defense was dominant all game and Trumbull was limited to negative yards gained thru the first half. However, with 4 minutes remaining in the game, Trumbull's leading RB and starting middle linebacker led a drive that was ultimately reached, and was stopped, at our 10 yard line. On that drive RJ Patrignelli, Lawson Leibrock and Angelo Boci made key tackles to keep Trumbull off the scoreboard. It was a solid effort all around despite feeling the score didn't convey Fairfield's control through most of the game.

***One more regular season game at Sullivan this Sunday at 12pm as PeeWee hosts the New Britain Raiders.
