The Fairfield Giants Jr Midgets lost a tough battle to the Milford Eagles this weekend by the score of 18-0. Fairfield lost their QB Andrew Loya early in the game to an apparent shoulder injury. The 1st half proved to be a defensive battle as the game was splayed inside the 40 yard lines with the exception of a Giants blocked punt which rolled out the back of the end zone for a safety. The half ended with a score on 2-0 Milford. Milford came out in the 2nd half, scoring on a long, sustained drive (PAT good) making the score 10-0 at he end of Q3. The Eagles once again would wear down the Giants defense scoring in the 4th making the final 18-0 Milford.

FAIRFIELD 20 NAUGATUCK 0
The Giants Pee Wee Team posted their 4th shutout victory in 6 games, improving to 5-1 with a 20-0 victory over the Naugatuck Hounds on Sunday afternoon. RB Mike Innaimo took an opening drive sweep 45 yards to the Naugy 5 yd line, where FB Peter Strang steamrolled over the goal line and in the for the score on the very next play. In Q2, Innaimo would score on an 8 yard blast making the score 12-0 at the half. Mid way thru Q3, Strang took a reverse from RB Tyler Hibberd 30 yds and in for the score (Hibberd PAT) to make the score 20-0. The real story of the day was the Giants defense, limiting the Hounds to just 4 first downs all game. DL Aaron Sepot, Tim Walton, Robert D’Elia, Jack Gremes, and Griffin Harding did a great job containing the Naugy’s Wing-T running game. LB’s and DB’s Grady Golier, Jakob Bermudez, Ben Gaffney, Drew Buckley, Nick Morris and Gavin Toth held the outside sweeps and passing game in check thru 4 quarters. Line standouts were, Max Spies, Murphy Hoey, Roan Chiarilli, Jamie Caposella and Anthony Bambus.
JR PEE WEE 1 (4-2)
FAIRFIELD 25 TRUMBULL 14
The JPW1 team beat Trumbull2 25-14 to improve to 4-2 on the season. The Giants established control on the first series that ended with Aiden Casey scoring on a QB sneak. Trumbull struggled to get anything going on offense as Matthew Selca and Sean Donohue pressured them all day. Jordan Davis took a sweep 45 yards to take a halftime lead 13-7. The second half the defense continued to dominate with big plays by Dustin Pool and Ronnie Labrasciano. Trumbull had no answer to the Giants run game. Jack Melbourne powered his way to the end zone and Jordan scored his second to secure the win 25-14. Next week Milford.

Fairfield, CT – Fairfield’s JPW2 QB Rogan Kane rolled out of the pocket and connected with WR Patten Royal for a 40 yard touchdown in the first quarter.The Trumbull Ranger QB evaded the Giant defense to find an open receiver and tied the game to end the first half 6-6.Cold and wet both teams turned the ball over repeatedly.Fairfield’s Jack Ransome recovered two Ranger fumbles for the Giants.The Giants defense was led by Jack Balsano, Anthony Falletta, Harrison Spangler, Joseph Macri, Matthew Mitchell and Andrew Reynolds kept pressure on Trumbull the whole game.The Rangers managed to find a lane and scored late in the 4th quarter on a 13 yard run to edge Fairfield 12-6.
MITEY MITE SR (2-4)
FAIRFIELD 0 NEW BRITAIN 7
Mighty Mite seniors lost a hard fought game to New Brittan 7-0. The defense showed up again with fantastic defensive line play by Luke Herring, Beckett Hallama, Dylan Lee, and Derek Piagnatini. who all pluged up the holes making it very difficult for New Brittan to do anything. On offense Tate Mahoney and Chris Belantoni Managed the game well at QB completing passes down the field putting farifield in position to win the game. In the end the Giants came up short. The Giants played hard.
MITEY MITE JR (3-2-1)
FAIRFIELD 16 TRUMBULL 6
Fairfield, CT – QB Jonathan Morris struck first for the Fairfield Giants MMJr with a 36 yard touchdown run against Trumbull. Trumbull evened things up in the 2nd quarter with a touchdown run to make it 6-6. Morris got the lead back for the Giants with a 60 yard run making it 12-6. Fairfield’s defense put pressure on the Rangers all day. The Giant’s defense was led by Gage Tyler, Creed Rollins, Angelo Boci, Robert Patrignelli and Ryan Thompkins. Fairfield’s Charlie Mahoney sacked the Trumbull QB which led the Rangers to punt. Giant RBs Finbar Maloy, Tyler Cirilli, Matthew McManus, Braeden Aronson, Conrad Burki and Nolan Childers kept the chains moving for Fairfield in the second half of the game. Cirilli punched in Fairfield’s final score from the 1 yard line to cap the win 18-6 for the Giants. Fairfield travels to Milford on October 11th.
