CHEER TAKES 1ST PLACE

Competed this weekend at the Southern Ct Pop Warner qualifiers competition for a chance to advance to the regional competition in Springfield, MA on November 7th. The top two teams from each level advances to regionals. The top two teams at regionals then advance to nationals championship in Disney.

Jr pee Wees competed against 6 other teams and placed fourth

Jr midgets took 1st PLACE with the highest score in the session at 93.9! They will advance to regional competition for a chance to make it to Florida again!

Both teams did an AMAZING job performing and will compete again this weekend for a chance at the state title! GI-AN-TS THE BEST!

JR MIDGETS (3-4) FAIRFIELD 6 TRUMBULL 28

The Giants Junior Midgets battled valiantly in a tough loss to Trumbull, 28 - 6. The first half was a defensive battle with Trumbull scoring first on a long pass with 40 seconds to go in the half. The half ended Trumbull 8, Fairfield 0.In the second half our defense continue to battle, led by Freddy Capposella, Tommy O’Connell, Dylan Fragomeni, Daniel Shannon,Luke Martucci, Lambert (Tino) Rugani and Jonah Brodtman. Trumbull however had three big plays that resulted in touchdowns. In the fourth quarter Fairfield ran a QB keeper where Anthony Espinoza found a hole in the middle of the field and ran for a 50 yard touchdown to put Fairfield on the board, with the final score of 28-6.

PEE WEE (6-1) FAIRFIELD 30 TRUMBULL 6

The Giants Pee Wee Team entered week 7 tied for 1st place with the Trumbull Rangers, and ended the week in Sole possession of 1st place, as they prepare for the upcoming playoffs. A heated rivalry for many years, the game was billed as the battle of the best! The Giants prepared long and hard for the Trumbull high octane spread offense. The defense has only allowed 7 pts (1 TD) in 5 division games. Trumbull would make it their 6th! The lone 6 points scored by the Rangers was a pick 6 defensive TD late in Q2.”The defense was just swarming today”, said defensive coach Nick Morris. “We stuffed the run and blanketed the pass. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide”! Fairfield controlled the clock with long, sustained drives. ‘We pounded the ball on the ground all game and wore them out”, said head coach Mark Innaimo. The offensive and defensive lines were the STARS of the day. Opening holes on O and stuffing the run on D. Scoring inside the red zone for the Giants were QB Nick Morris (2), RB’s Mike Innaimo (1) and Peter Strang (1). Tyler Hibberd was 3 for 4 in PAT attempts, totaling 30 offensive points on the day.
On Defense, Hibberd and (S) Ben Gaffney both had acrobatic interceptions, DE Jack Gremes and Griffin Harding had a forced fumble recovery, and Strang roamed the middle with a vengeance, all adding to the swarming havoc the Giants D caused all game. Game standouts were Anthony Bambus, Grady Gollier, Robert D’Elia, and Conner Gittman.

JR PEE WEE 1 (5-2) FAIRFIELD 32 MILFORD (1) 13

The 5-2 JPW1 team kept their win streak alive with a convincing victory over Milford1 with a score of 32-13. Giants set the tone early with a long firsdrive ending with a TD run by RB Joey D’Elai, his fist of 3. The Milford defense had no answer for the the Giants run game, the offensive line led by Sean Donohue, Mac Gleason and Chance de la Garrigue dominated the line of scrimmage. Jordan Davis was unstoppable scoring 2 Touchdowns and the half ended with Joey D’Elai returning an interception 50 yards to end the half 26-0. The second half the Giants scored early extending the lead to 32-0. Defensive standouts included Anwar Sakly, Beau Dehler, Jack Melbourne and Andrew Fortunato. Next week the JPW1 team looks to close out the season with Trumbull and then on to the playoffs.

JR PEE WEE 2 (5-2) FAIRFIELD 0 MILFORD (2) 41

Milford, CT – The Eagles scored on their first possession and never looked back.Fairfield’s Mathew Mitchell was a familiar face in Milford’s backfield but the Eagle’s ground game was too much for the Giants.The Eagles kept Fairfield JPW2 QB Rogan Kane under pressure the entire game but Kane never turned the ball over. The Giant’s RBs Deuce Barnaby, Jaylin Riley, Jack Ransome, Sean O’Neil, Cooper Anderson and Harrison Spangler moved the chains for Fairfield but often the drives stalled out.Defensively Fairfield was led Mikey Lau, Patten Royal, Andrew Reynolds and Mark Wrobel.Milford tops Fairfield 41-0. Fairfield hosts Trumbull2 on Sunday.

MITEY MITE SR (2-5) FAIRFIELD 0 HARTFORD 38

Mighty mite senior lost a tough game to Hartford on Saturday with a score of 18-0 the Giants played a much better game then there first meeting when Hartford beat Fairfield 38-0. Strong defensive showing by Billy Mitchell who had many plays but one notable tackle force fumble recovered by Fairfield. The defense played well with the 4 linemen up front Luke herring Derek piagnatini dylan lee and Beckett hallama Giants played hard.

MITEY MITE JR (4-2-1) FAIRFIELD 18 MILFORD 0

Milford, CT – On Fairfield’s opening drive, MMJr QB Jonathan Morris ran 52 yards for the first score of the game. The Giants got first downs from RBs Conrad Burki, Finbar Maloy, Braeden Aronson, William Bond, Ryan Thompkins and Matthew McManus. RB Ryan Menozzi scored again in the first quarter for the Giants on a 38 yard run to make it 12-0. Fairfield scored again in the 2ndquarter when RB Nolan Childers swept to the outside for 16 yards and the TD making it 18-0. Fairfield’s defense only allowed 3 first downs. The Giant’s defense was led Angelo Boci, Ryan Menozzi, Sean McCurley, Will Donahue, Gage Tyler, Creed Rollins, Andrew Barnaby, Charlie Mahoney and Cole Westerlund. The Giant’s closed out the game with sacks by Justin Toothaker and Finbar Maloy. The Giants host Hamden Saturday.
