JR MIDGETS (3-2) FAIRFIELD 18 SEYMOUR 14
The Fairfield Giant Junior Midgets notched their third win of the season and their second in a row in come from behind fashion once again. The Giants faced a scrappy Seymour team that got on the board first with a long 70 TD run. The Giants answered, missed the PAT and were down 8-6, but forced a Seymour turnover and with under 2 minutes in the half and looking to take the lead on Seymour’s 25 yd line, but an interception and 65 yd return put Seymour back in business and they took a lead into halftime 14-6. The Giants refused to quit and played a great second half. The defense shut down Seymour and held them scoreless while the offense notched two scores, the last one coming with 4 minutes left in the game. It was a total team effort for the second week in a row. Strong second half shut-down defense combined with hard running and big play passing resulted in the win.

PEE WEE (4-1) FAIRFIELD 26 SEYMOUR 0
The Giants Pee Wee Team posted their 3rd shutout win of the season, improving to 4-1 with a 26-0 victory over the Seymour Tigers on Sunday afternoon at Sullivan Field, “Home of the Fairfield Giants”. QB Nick Morris started the offensive barrage in Q1 with a 55 yd TD run off tackle. Morris would score again late in Q1 on a 5 yard naked bootleg (Hibberd Kick), giving the Giants an early 14-0 lead. RB Peter Strang and TE Griffin Harding would both score on long 65 Yard TD passes, making the score 26-0 in Q3.
The real story of the day was the Giants defense, limiting the Tigers to just 3 first downs all game. DL Aaron Sepot, Tim Walton, Robert D’Elia, Jack Gremes, and Harding did a great job containing the Tigers running game. LB’s and DB’s Grady Golier, Jakob Bermudez, Ben Gaffney, Drew Buckley, Mike innaimo, and Gavin Toth held the passing game in check thru 4 quarters. “Our lineman really played at a high level today, on offense and on defense”, said Giants asst coach Ronnie Ciccia. “The wheels to not turn unless the lineman are doing their job”. Line standouts were, Max Spies, Walton, Nick Versea, Connor Gitman, Grant Panareese, Jamie Caposella and Anthony Bambus.

JR PEE WEE 1 (3-2) FAIRFIELD 27 SEYMOUR 0
The JPW1 team registered their first shut out win 27-0 over the Seymour Tigers.Jack Melbourne scored his first of 2 TD’s on the first drive and Fairfieldnever slowed down. The defense was relentless holding Seymour to 2 first downs the whole game. The defense was lead by Dustyn Pool, Sean Donohue, Michael Selca, and Justyn Davis. Up by 20 at the half the Giants kept the ball on the ground. Jordan Davis scored his 2nd of 2 rushing TD’s behind strong blocking by Chance de la Garrigue and Mac Gleason. The Giants line held strong and secured the 27-0 victory. Next week-Trumbull.

JR PEE WEE 2 (5-0) FAIRFIELD 21 Springfield, MA 0
Fairfield, CT- Fairfield’s JPW2 defense will probably be recruited by the IRS soon.The Springfield, MA Longhorn offense was consistently denied by the Giants.The Longhorns kicked off and Fairfield’s Patten Royal returned the kick-off 40 yards.The Giants struck first when RB Sean O’Neil on 2nd down streaked 38 yards for the first score of the game.The Giant’s FB Cooper Anderson converted the PAT.The Longhorns advanced the kick-off from Andrew Reynolds to the Giant’s 49 yard line.Springfield fumbled the ball and Fairfield’s Matthew Mitchell recovered.Fairfield’s offense took over and Harrison Spangler rushed to the outside for 17 yards and the score.Fairfield’s FB Anderson punched in his 2nd PAT to lift the Giants 14-0.Fairfield’s defensive line led by Benico Jara, Parker Pasmeg, Jack Ransome, Timothy Bango-Jasko, Joseph Macri and Andrew Reynolds put pressure on the Longhorns backfield all day.Fairfield ILBs Mark Wrobel and Jack Balsano moved the Longhorns backwards regularly.The Giant’s Anthony Falletta recoved a Springfield fumble in the 3rd quarter to end a Longhorn’s drive.Fairfield ran early and often behind RBs Jaylin Riley, Deuce Barnaby, Ryan Faris and Patten Royal.Springfield took to the air in the 4th quarter only to be picked off by Fairfield ILB Sean O’Neil; O’Neil returned the interception 31 yards for the score.The Giant’s FB Anderson got the hat trick with his 3rd PAT of the day sealing the Fairfield victory 21-0 and lifting the Giant’s JPW2 team to 5-0.Fairfield hosts Trumbull Oct 4th.

MITEY MITE SR (2-3) FAIRFIELD 6 SEYMOUR 0The mighty mite seniors win there second game of the season againstSeymour 6-0 with a impressive performance by the Fairfield Giants defense. The defense played hard with many tackles for losses the defensive line showed up with a impressive performance John kleinbeck Robert cortina led the way on defense with 4 tackles for losses by each of them. The Giants offense got going in the second half who came out and scored on a long run by John kleinbeck. Tate Mahoney and Chris Bellantoni the two qbs had a great day managing the game and keeping the Giants offense driving down the field . The offensive line blocked really well for the Giants in the second half attributing to the win for Fairfield. This was a huge effort by the Giants on both sides of the ball. Giants win 6-0.

MITEY MITE JR (2-2-1) FAIRFIELD 18  NEW HAVEN 24
Fairfield, CT – Fairfield MMJR QB Jonathan Morris ran 31 yards for the TD on his 3rd carry as the Giants hosted New Haven. Morris scored again in the 2nd quarter off a 23 yard effort to lift Fairfield 12-0 over the Steelers. New Haven’s RB Jonathan Evans found a seam and put the Steelers on the board making it 12-6. Fairfield’s William Dunn, Rhett Davies, Justin Toothaker and Sean McCurley made key blocks that allowed Morris to coast 40 yards for his 3rd score of the day and widening the lead to 18-6 at the half. The Giant’s defense led by Max Pechman, Cole Westerlund, Angelo Boci, Tyler Cirilli and Conrad Burki got into the Steelers backfield often in the first half. New Haven RB Teriq Mallory closed the gap to 18-12 in the 3rd quarter when he reached the end zone. Holding penalties and false starts doomed Fairfield’s most promising drive in the 4th quarter. Giant RBs Finbar Maloy and Ryan Menozzi took Fairfield from their own 23 yard line to New Haven’s 32 yard line before turning it over on downs. New Haven’s Evans once again popped out of trouble and into the end zone tying the game 18-18. The Giants last drive stalled on penalties and led to a punt. The Steeler’s Mallory on 2nd down with time expiring found the end zone to grab the win 18-24. Fairfield hosts Trumbull Oct 3rd.
