Fairfield Great-Grandfather Charged with Leaving Children Unattended

The man left his two great-grandchildren alone for about an hour while he went out to get food.

A man in Fairfield was issued a summons for leaving his two great grandchildren home alone Monday night, the Connecticut Post reports.

Nick Marks, 73, was charged with two counts of injury to a minor.

Police were called to the Villa Avenue apartment by a neighbor at around 6 p.m., the publication reports. Police found that the apartment door was unlocked and found the two boys who are 4 and 10 unharmed and playing with a ball.

According to the publication, Marks returned home at 6:20 p.m. with food from McDonald’s. He was released on a promise to appear in Superior Court in Bridgeport on Dec. 29.
