Fairfield Hiring Recording Secretaries, Deputy Harbor Master

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield Town Government is actively looking to hire recording secretaries for boards and commissions, and a Deputy Fairfield and Southport Harbor Master, according to officials.

In her latest Town Update, First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick gives information on both positions.

"Typically, a recording secretary attends a meeting about once a month – either in person or virtually – and records basic information such as who attended, the time the meeting was called to order and adjourned and any votes," Kupchick wrote.

As for the Deputy Harbor Master post, the job includes the following:

State Statutes specify that Harbor Masters are responsible for the general care and supervision
of the harbors and navigable waterways over which they have jurisdiction; that they are subject
to the direction and control of the [Department of Energy and Environmental Protection]; and that they are responsible to the Commissioner for the safe and efficient operation of such harbors and waterways in accordance with other provisions of the Connecticut General Statutes. The Harbor Master is supported in its state role by the [Department of Energy and Environmental Protection].
