Fairfield Honors State Champion Little League Teams
Four Fairfield Little League teams took the state title this season.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield celebrated four local Little League champion teams with an event Tuesday at Sherman Green gazebo, according to a town news release.
The town honored the following teams:
- Fairfield American Little League 10U District team — District 2 champions, Section 1 champions and state champions;
- Fairfield National Little League 11U District All-Stars — East Region champions, District 2 champions, Section 1 champions and state champions;
- Fairfield Little League Girls Softball Juniors All-Stars — state champions and New England champions;
- Fairfield Little League Girls Softball 11U All-Stars — District 2 champions, Section 1 champions and state champions.
A ceremony was held and certificates of congratulations were presented to each team. The Parks and Recreation Department had a DJ and balloons and Saugatuck Sweets offered free ice cream to players and coaches. The Fairfield Fire Department parked one of its trucks along Sherman Green.

Additionally, the town honored Fairfield Ludlowe High School student and former Fairfield American Little League player Aiden Blanc, age 16. Along with three other teens from around the country, Blanc was chosen by ESPN to broadcast one of the Little League World Series games on Aug. 21 on ESPN2.
