Fairfield K-9 Jagger Assists In Seizure of More Than $250K Worth of Cocaine
State Police say a traffic stop of an alleged speeding driver led to the discovery of nearly 4 kilos of cocaine in the car.
MILFORD, CT – A traffic stop on I-95 North in Milford led to the seizure of more than $250,000 worth of cocaine and the arrest of a New York man over the weekend.
State Police from Troop G conducted a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle with New York plates for allegedly speeding at Exit 35 in Milford at about 8:46 a.m. on Saturday.
During the stop, troopers detected several indicators indicative of narcotics trafficking and requested consent to search the vehicle, according to Connecticut State Police.

Rueben Abreu, 46, of New York, N.Y., was identified as the driver.
Officer Kevin Wells and his K-9 partner Jagger of the Fairfield Police Department assisted State Police with the search of the vehicle.

State Police said a subsequent search by K-9 Jagger yielded a positive “hit” on a case containing four vacuum sealed bricks of suspected cocaine. The bricks were later weighed at 8.7 pounds (3.95 kilos).
The street value of the suspected cocaine is more than $250,000, according to State Police.
Abreu was placed under arrest and transported to Troop G for processing. Abreu was held on a $300,000 bond and assigned a court date of March 14 at Milford Superior Court.
