Fairfield League Of Women Voters Examines Women's Suffrage And Ongoing Democratic Participation
The League of Women Voters of Fairfield and the museum are sponsoring a discussion program on Tuesday.
FAIRFIELD, CT — A Women’s History Month program focused on women’s suffrage and political participation is scheduled for March 24 in Fairfield.
"Votes for Women and the Unfinished Work of Independence" will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Fairfield Museum and History Center, 370 Beach Road.
According to the League of Women Voters of Fairfield, the program is part of Fairfield’s observance of the country’s 250th anniversary.

Sacred Heart University professors Jennifer McLaughlin and Kelly Marino are set to present the program. The two will discuss the continuing fight for equal participation in American democracy.
The event links Women’s History Month with a broader local commemoration of the nation’s founding, while focusing on the history of voting rights and civic participation.

The evening is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Fairfield and the Fairfield Museum and History Center. A $5 donation is suggested for the Fairfield Museum and History Center, according to organizers.
