Fairfield's Senior American League team dropped a 7-2 decision Friday to Westport in Zone Four action at Fairfield Warde High School.
Fairfield dropped to 4-8 overall and 2-6 in zone play heading into another contest against Westport on Saturday morning.
The key play of the game came in the fifth inning, when Westport loaded the bases with nobody out while holding a 3-2 lead.

Fairfield starter Jake Rasner appeared on the verge of getting out of the threat unscathed after getting a strikeout and forceout at the plate.
However, right fielder Jimmy Dowd misjudged Mike Scott's towering fly ball, allowing three runs to score and putting the game out of reach for Fairfield.

"(You) want the outfielders to make the play, but sometimes they don't and you just got to battle back and throw strikes," Rasner said.
"I told him (Dowd) to shake it off and we got to move on and attack," Fairfield coach Ed Conway said.
Fairfield had a chance to break a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the fourth, putting runners on first and third with no outs. But Westport reliever Enzo Latella replaced starter Erik Sawyer and worked out of the jam without giving up a run.
The vistors opened the scoring in the top of the first on Brendan Bernstein's RBI single.
The hosts grabbed a 2-1 lead on a two-run single by Dylan Grande, scoring John DeMartino and Sam Kivell.
Westport pulled even on Bernstein's RBI double, which started a five-run uprising in the fifth.
"We got some timely hitting and good pitching," Westport coach Glen Katz said.
Fairfield will look to bounce back when the squads square off against at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at Kiwanis Field.
"I feel we have a good team, and I told the guys let's go out there and prove it tomorrow," Conway said.
