Fairfield Ludlowe 4x800 Relay Team Earns All-State Honors

The team won its event at the Class L indoor track championships.

The Fairfield Ludlowe boys’ 4x800 relay team earned All-State honors in indoor track on Saturday, winning the Class L title in their event.

The team of sophomore Ian Bartlett, senior Daniel Leto and juniors Benjamin Ertel and David Bates finished with a time of 8:15.23.

The same team also earned All-FCIAC honors last Thursday at the FCIAC championship meet, placing second to Danbury with a time of 8:15.70.

With Saturday’s win, they qualified to move on to the State Open Championship on Saturday, Feb. 20, also at New Haven Athletic Center.

Ian Bartlett also placed sixth in the 1000 at the CIAC meet on Saturday with a time of 2:41.48.

Ludlowe’s 4X400 team of seniors Brett Williams, Will Keresey, Bartlett and Leto finished fourth with a time of 3:39.80.

Ludlowe finished in a three-way tie for 10th in the meet overall out of 33 Class L teams.
