Fairfield Ludlowe Girls Lacrosse Advances To Semifinals
Falcons defeat Granby, 11-7, to keep season alive
Three FCIAC boys' lacrosse teams - Staples - Darien and New Canaan - have reached the semifinals of their respective state tournaments.
The girls can do that one better, as Fairfield Ludlowe because the fourth FCIAC team to advance to the semifinals on the female side with an 11-7 victory over Granby Memorial on Monday in the Division II tournament.
Sarah Nesi and Haley Welke each scored three goals for the Falcons (14-6), who advanced to Wednesday's semifinals against Haddam-Killingworth. The game will be played at 7 p.m. at Bunnell High School in Stratford.

Tierney Larson contributed two goals and an assist for Ludowe, which held a 7-5 lead at the half.
Jill Moffett and Charlotte O'Donnell split time in goal for Ludlowe and combined for seven saves.

The Falcons could be on a collision course to meet FCIAC rival Staples in the Division II final. Staples advanced with an 18-11 win over top seed Immaculate.
In the Division I tournament, New Canaan and Darien have reached the final four.
