Fairfield Man, 29, Accused Of Possessing Child Pornography: Police
Fairfield police said the investigation has spanned several months.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 29-year-old Fairfield man was arrested on a warrant by Fairfield police this week on a charge of possession of child pornography, according to authorities.
Dontrell Dayshawn Rodriguez was taken into custody on Wednesday, his home was searched, and his electronic devices were seized by police, following an investigation that spanned "the past several months."
Fairfield police opened the case after receiving a cyber tip from the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit, underscoring the department's "unwavering commitment to combating child exploitation," said Fairfield Police Sgt. Michael Stahl.

"Detectives from the Fairfield Police Department Investigative Division diligently pursued leads, executing search and seizure warrants on file hosting services and internet service providers between December 2023 and March 2024," Stahl said.
Evidence collected during these operations identified Rodriguez as a suspect, and Fairfield police obtained both arrest and search warrants for him, his electronic devices, and Fairfield home.

Rodriguez was held in lieu of bail of $75,000, and was scheduled to be arraigned in Bridgeport Superior Court on Thursday.
"This arrest represents a significant milestone in law enforcement’s efforts to combat child exploitation," Stahl said. "The Fairfield Police Department remains steadfast in our commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our society. The collaboration with the Connecticut State Police along with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has been instrumental not only in this case but in numerous arrests in our town and across the state. This partnership will continue to bring those in possession of such lewd material to justice."
Wednesday's case marks the department's second child pornography arrest in Fairfield this year, following an arrest of a former school district employee who was charged in January and again in February.
