Fairfield Man Accused Of Attempted Murder In Stabbing Attack: PD
The incident occurred Sunday night, according to Fairfield police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 51-year-old Fairfield man was arrested on a charge of criminal attempt to commit murder on Sunday night, after police said he repeatedly stabbed his partner during a domestic incident.
In addition to the attempted murder charge, Robert Van Weddle was also charged with first-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He was held overnight on bond, and was scheduled to be arraigned in Bridgeport Superior Court on Monday.
The victim was listed in stable condition on Monday, according to Fairfield police.

Officers were called to a Mountain Laurel Road home Sunday just after 11 p.m. Additional details of the incident were not disclosed.
In a statement, Fairfield police urged residents to report all instances of domestic violence.
