Fairfield Man Accused of Choking Girlfriend During Dispute
Ricardo Dasilva, 31, faces strangulation, assault charges.

A Fairfield man is accused of trying to choke his girlfriend during an argument last Friday night at their May Street home, according to the Connecticut Post.
Ricardo Dasilva, 31, was arrested on charges of second-degree strangulation, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He was held in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
The Post reported that Dasilva’s girlfriend was able to break free during the incident to call police, who said that Dasilva “periodically” cut off her air supply and hit her in the face while choking her.

There were conflicting reports on what started the argument. Dasilva told police it was because his girlfriend slapped him because he made dinner for himself and not her, according to the Post.
The victim, however, told police it was over Dasilva’s drinking, according to the Post.
