Fairfield Man Accused Of Making Threats: Police

Fairfield police, upon learning the suspect owned firearms, seized a pair of assault rifles from him, according to authorities.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 35-year-old Fairfield man was arrested earlier this month on a host of weapons and threatening charges, after police said he made threats toward another person while two juveniles were present.

Brenden Gomola was arrested on May 4 and was charged with the following:

  • Risk of Injury to a Child (2 counts)
  • Threatening in the First Degree
  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Illegal Possession of an Assault Weapon (2 counts)
  • Illegal Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine (2 counts)
"During the investigation, officers were made aware that Gomola possessed firearms," Fairfield Police Sgt. Jenna Wellington told Patch. "A Risk Protection Order was executed, and officers seized two assault rifles and two large capacity magazines."
Additional details of the case were not disclosed.
Gomola was released after posting bond on bail of $35,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Wednesday.
