Fairfield Man Accused Of Sexual Harassment, Stalking: U.S. Marshals

The suspect was wanted by Delaware law enforcement in connection with alleged incidents this year and in 2022.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 28-year-old Fairfield man was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service and Fairfield police Thursday, and was charged with stalking, indecent exposure and sexual harassment by attempt to induce sexual contact, according to authorities.

Douglas Baran was wanted on five separate warrants in connection with alleged incidents that are being investigated by the New Castle and Newark police departments in Delaware.

"Victims in this case contacted Delaware law enforcement between 2022-2023 to report numerous unsolicited contacts by Baran, as a result, Delaware law enforcement investigated and obtained arrest warrants for [him]," wrote Supervisor Deputy Matthew Duffy, of the U.S. Marshals Service, in a statement.

Additional details of the case were not disclosed.

The U.S. Marshals Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force and Fairfield police department arrested Baran in the Sunnyridge Avenue area.

Baran was held at the Fairfield Police Department and is awaiting extradition back to Delaware.
