Fairfield Man Accused Of Trying To Meet Underage Girl: Greenwich PD
Greenwich police said they conducted an undercover operation in which a detective posed as a 14-year-old girl online.

FAIRFIELD, CT — After conducting an undercover operation in which a Greenwich detective posed as an underage girl online, police arrested a 29-year-old man who they said tried to meet the purported girl in Greenwich earlier this month.
John Majancsik, of Fairfield, was arrested on April 7 and charged with criminal attempt at illegal sexual contact with a victim under the age of 16, according to his arrest report.
Police said in the week before the arrest, an undercover detective posed as a 14-year-old girl in an online chat application, and eventually befriended Majancsik.

Over the course of the investigation, according to an arrest report, Majancsik "began to steer the conversations towards becoming more sexually explicit in nature." Police also said Majancsik began describing sex acts he wanted to perform on the girl "in real life."
Police said Majancsik made plans to meet with the purported underage girl at a specific location in Greenwich. He was arrested at that location on April 7 without incident, police said.
