Fairfield Man Awoken To Find Intruder In Home: Police

The homeowner, with a weapon, confronted the intruder, who fled, Fairfield police said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Fairfield man was awoken in the early morning hours to find an intruder in his home, according to police.

A homeowner in the 800 block of Stratfield Road reported about 3:30 a.m Saturday that he was awoken by his barking dogs to discover a man in his residence, police said in a news release. The homeowner, armed with a weapon, confronted the intruder, who fled, according to police.

The suspect is a white man who is between 5 feet, 11 inches and 6 feet, 1 inch tall and was wearing dark clothing, the homeowner told first responders, adding he may know the intruder’s identity due to a previous incident in another town, the news release said.

“It appears that this incident was not a random act, and we believe there is no danger to the public or to residents in the surrounding area,” police said in the news release.
