FAIRFIELD, CT — An elderly Fairfield resident drove through a fence and into his neighbor’s porch Sunday, according to a fire official.

The crash occurred about 3:30 p.m., when a man, who was in his driveway in the 600 block of Beach Road, pulled forward, accelerating through his own backyard, a fence and into the back porch of an adjacent home on Eunice Avenue, according to Assistant Chief Roger Caisse.

“There were no injuries and the damage was relatively minor,” Caisse said. “… It certainly looked accidental in nature.”
