Fairfield Man Hosts Charity Plant Sale at His Black Rock Pub
Patrick Clyne Supports Mother's Day Plant Sale to Help His Customer Noreen Forde at The Castle, Black Rock

Fairfield resident Patrick Clyne is hosting Noreen Forde's annual Mother's Day Plant Sale at The Castle, Black Rock. Proceeds will help cancer patients, survivors and caregivers through the Whittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital. The Whittingham Cancer Center is where Noreen received treatment for ovarian cancer from her physician, Dr. George Zahrah. This is her fourth year hosting a spring plant sale. Last year's event raised over $10,000.
"The Whittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital has given me exceptional care so I wanted to do something to help the other patients there," Noreen Ford said. "Flowering plants are a wonderful sign of spring and a beautiful gift for Mother's Day," stated Noreen added.
Premium Hanging Plants will be sold featuring Ivy Geranium or Petunia Trailing. They are $35 each or two for $60. Noreen teamed up with Vaiuso Farms Inc. of Branford to get the best plants possible. Patrick Clyne, owner of The Castle on Post Restaurant & Pub, is hosting the event at his new facility at The Castle, Black Rock, 3171 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport. The new parking lot allows for easy pick-up of flowers.
