Fairfield Man Pleads in Connection to Sexual Predator Sting Operation
The 60-year-old man reportedly went to the house believing he was meeting up with a 13-year-old boy he contacted online.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 60-year-old Fairfield man arrested during last October’s sexual predator sting operation, which was carried out by Fairfield Police in conjunction with TV personality Chris Hansen, faces up to three years in prison after pleading guilty under the Alford Doctrine, according to the Connecticut Post.
The Post reports that Charles Lawrence III allegedly went to the Fairfield house used in the operation believing he was going to meet up with a 13-year-old boy he contacted over the Internet and said he could be the “teacher” of his sexual desires.
Under the Alford Doctrine, Lawrence did not admit to all the facts of the case but conceded the state had sufficient evidence to convict him of the crime, according to the Post.
Last October, Fairfield Police arrested 10 men, from ages 19 to 64, in the four-day operation in which the men went to a Fairfield house allegedly to meet up with someone they believed was either a 13-year-old boy or a 12-year-old girl they had been communicating with via the Internet and text messages.
