Fairfield Man Tried To Burglarize Garages In Brooklawn Area: Cops
He failed to enter one garage before successfully breaking into another, police said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Fairfield man has been charged after burglarizing one garage and trying to break into another in the area near the Brooklawn Country Club, according to police.
Michael J. Targouski, 46, of Knapps Highway, is charged with burglary and attempted burglary, police said in a Facebook post.
A homeowner on Old Oaks Road told officials about midnight Saturday that a man walked around his property and tried to open his garage, according to police. The homeowner recorded the man, Targouski, on surveillance video, but officers didn't find him when they searched the area, police said.

About 4:30 a.m. the same morning, police received a second call about a burglary, this time on Algonquin Road. The suspect had removed a pane of plexiglass and entered the garage, according to police. The man fit the same description as the suspect from Old Oaks Road, and was again captured by surveillance footage, police said.
An officer found Targouski walking on Brooklawn Avenue near Algonquin Road, according to police, who said Targouski later admitted to both crimes.

Targouski was held on a $25,000 bond and is set to appear in court Oct. 23.
